Who is Chin Hin Property? The company behind the projects
Chin Hin Group Property Berhad was incorporated in 2001 as Boon Koon Group Berhad, and its shares have traded on Bursa Malaysia since 2004 [3]. It was renamed in September 2018 after moving into property development [4]. It is listed on the Main Market as CHGP (stock code 7187), and its immediate holding company is Chin Hin Group Berhad, also listed on the Main Market [1]. The wider Chin Hin group traces its start to the family hardware business in Alor Setar, Kedah, which founder Chiau Beng Teik joined in January 1975 [1].
Its first property project was Aera Residence in Petaling Jaya, developed jointly by its subsidiary BKG Development Sdn Bhd and Platinum Eminent Sdn Bhd [3]; the group's participating interest in that joint operation was 60% [2]. In November 2019 it formed a joint venture with Stellar 8 Sdn Bhd for 8th & Stellar in Sri Petaling [3], with a 47% interest; Stellar 8 ceased to be a group joint venture in 2025, after the project was completed [1].
