What do these statuses mean?
Sick
“Sick” (registry term: Sakit) — a project delayed by more than 30% against its expected progress schedule, or whose Sale & Purchase Agreement period has expired.
Abandoned
“Abandoned” (registry term: Terbengkalai) — an incomplete project with no significant site activity for 6 consecutive months; or a winding-up petition filed (S.218 Companies Act); or the company under a Receiver & Manager; or the developer admitting inability in writing — and confirmed by the Minister under S.11(1)(c) of Act 118.
Late
“Late” (registry term: Lewat) — TEDUH status for a project behind schedule that has not yet met the sick-project definition.

Why does abandoned outnumber sick in Terengganu?
The register records statuses, not causes. What it shows clearly: most of Terengganu's abandoned projects are old cases — original VP dates of 1993, 2003, 2004 and 2009 — that passed through the Sakit stage long ago. This is an old backlog that has never been cleared, not a fresh wave of failures.
Is a Terbengkalai project worse than a Sakit one?
In terms of the site's condition, yes — it is confirmed stalled. In terms of process, Terbengkalai is actually clearer: it places the project on JPN's official rehabilitation path, with fixed channels for buyer registration and claims, while a Sakit project can still recover or deteriorate.
Can an abandoned project in Terengganu still be completed?
Yes, through the JPN-monitored rehabilitation process — by the original developer or a rescue developer, and KPKT reports rehabilitations regularly. But the 1993 VP date on Terengganu's register also shows the other side: some cases go unresolved for decades. Do not buy on the assumption that rehabilitation is guaranteed.
