Who is Tan & Tan? The company behind the projects
Tan & Tan Developments Berhad was incorporated in 1971 and was a property development company listed on Bursa Malaysia [1]. Its early projects include the Desa Kudalari condominium (1979), the MiCasa All Suite Hotel (1988) and the gated community Sierramas (1993) [1]. On 8 May 2002 it merged with IGB Corporation Berhad, and Gold IS Berhad took over its listing; Gold IS was renamed Goldis Berhad in 2005 and IGB Berhad in 2018, after it took full ownership of IGB Corporation [1].
Tan & Tan is now wholly owned by IGB Berhad, which trades on Bursa Malaysia's Main Market as IGBB (5606) and is based in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur [1]. IGB's chairman is Tan Lei Cheng, who was chief executive of Tan & Tan from 1995; its group chief executive officer is Tan Boon Lee, and Tan Yee Seng has been chief executive of Tan & Tan since 1 January 2019 [1].
