Who is SCP Group? The company behind the projects
SCP Group was set up in 1999, after the Asian financial crisis, as car park operator Systematic Corporate Parking Sdn Bhd; its parking division, SCP Parking, controlled more than 14,000 bays nationwide in 2018 [2]. The property division went into full operation in early 2011 [6], with projects in the Klang Valley and in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah [4]. The main office is at Phileo Damansara 1 in Petaling Jaya [9], and the chief executive officer is Calvin Low [6].
In 2023 the group said it had completed and handed over more than 10 projects in the Klang Valley and Sabah, with a combined gross development value of more than RM4 billion [1]. That is a group-wide figure that includes commercial projects; the KPKT records on this page cover only projects licensed as housing and do not include Sabah.
Each project is developed through its own company. In the KPKT register, Kensho Residence in Taman Desa (registered as Residensi Danau Desa) is under Axis Milestone Sdn Bhd, Mosaic Residence @ USJ 1 (Residensi Damaisari) under Cheras Traders Square Sdn Bhd, and Traders Park in Balakong (Residensi Cheras Selatan 2) under SCP (Balakong) Sdn Bhd. Cheras Traders Square is also the name of SCP's shop-office development next to AEON Cheras Selatan, whose second phase was planned as a mixed development with serviced apartments [4]. KL Traders Square on Jalan Gombak was developed by Radical Range Sdn Bhd, a member of SCP Group [5].
Societe in Desa Sri Hartamas is a 33-storey SoHo tower with 334 SoHo units and 16 duplex SoHo units above an eight-storey retail and car park podium; it was due to be launched in August 2018, and construction had started before sales opened [2]. In 2019 The Edge reported that SCP had decided to buy back the units it had sold and convert the building into a serviced suite tower managed by Somerset, an Ascott brand [3].
