Who is GD Properties? The company behind the projects
The GD Holdings group was founded in 2009 by Datuk Seri Yeat Sew Chuong; besides property, a 2018 report said it supplied organic food and medical herbs and provided security services [3]. Its property development arm, GD Properties Sdn Bhd, is based in Negeri Sembilan, and its group chief executive officer is Ng Khoon Haur [2][1].
GD's projects in Nilai include Green Beverly Hills in Putra Nilai, a mixed development on 350 acres [4], and the 50-acre Vision City, which the company plans to build in four phases over eight to ten years [2]. Youth City, the first phase of Vision City, has 3,213 serviced apartments in four towers on 7.88 acres; a 2018 report said Vision City was being developed jointly with Foshan Jin Ying Real Estate Co Ltd of China [3]. KPKT registers Youth City in two phases under GD Pavilion Sdn Bhd, and Green Beverly Hills and Residensi Lili @ Taman Bucida under GD Mass Development Sdn Bhd.
KL360, on Jalan Tun Razak next to the Raja Uda MRT station, is GD's first project in the Klang Valley: 785 serviced apartments, 221 office suites and 20 retail units, with a gross development value of RM1.37 billion and China State Construction Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd as main contractor [1]. The site was previously M101 Skywheel, launched in 2017 by M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd, where work stopped in 2022/2023; GD Properties took over the project and revised the design, and Bank Rakyat agreed to finance RM182 million of the development [1].
