Who is Mayland? The company behind the projects
Malaysia Land Properties Sdn Bhd (Mayland) was incorporated in 1995 and grew into the group of property companies known as the Mayland Group of Companies [1]. Its founding chairman, Tan Sri Dato' David Chiu, also founded the Hong Kong-based Far East Organisation group, of which Mayland is a part [1]. In 2014 Malaysia Land Properties was wholly owned by Prestige Aspect Sdn Bhd, about 63.57% of which was held by David Chiu [7]. The managing directors are Dato' Kevin Woo, since August 2016, and Lee Han Ming, since May 2024 [1].
The company says it has developed more than 15,000 units since 1995 in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya and Johor [1]. It names Mayfair and Dorchester at Plaza Damas as its first prominent project and Regalia Serviced Apartment among its completed flagship projects [1]. Those are company-wide figures; the KPKT register covers only projects licensed as housing, and for five older completed Mayland projects it records no handover deadline.
