Far East Consortium International Limited (FEC) is incorporated in the Cayman Islands, has its principal office in Hong Kong and trades on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong under stock code 35 [1]. The company says it was listed on the main board in 1972 and that its businesses span property development and investment, hotels, car parks and facilities management, securities investment and gaming, in markets that include Malaysia [4]. Tan Sri Dato' David Chiu has been chief executive since 8 October 1997 and chairman since 8 September 2011 [1].
In Kuala Lumpur, FEC's wholly-owned subsidiary Dorsett Bukit Bintang Sdn Bhd developed Dorsett Residences, a 30-storey serviced-apartment building on a site of about 17,700 square feet fronting Jalan Imbi, beside the Dorsett Regency Hotel as the 2014 filing describes it [3][2]. In June 2014 it appointed Mayland Century Sdn Bhd as the exclusive sales and marketing consultant for the apartments [3]. Mayland Century belonged to Malaysia Land Properties (Mayland), then wholly owned by Prestige Aspect Sdn Bhd, about 63.57% held by David Chiu, who was also FEC's controlling shareholder [3]. The developer registered with KPKT is Dorsett Bukit Bintang Sdn Bhd, not a Mayland company.
FEC also says it holds 50% of Dorsett Place Waterfront Subang in Subang Jaya, Selangor: three blocks with 1,989 serviced suites, completed in September 2025, when the handover of Towers A and B began; Tower C has since opened as student accommodation [1]. KPKT registers that development under Pacific Valiant Sdn Bhd, so it is not in the table above.
